Support Cumberland Track and Field
The track and field team at Cumberland Academy of Georgia offers students the opportunity to explore a variety of events, from sprints and distance running to jumps and throws, in a supportive and inclusive environment. Coaches work with each athlete to develop their skills, focusing on personal growth and improvement, regardless of their starting point. The program emphasizes the importance of discipline, perseverance, and teamwork, helping students achieve their individual goals while contributing to the overall success of the team. Through regular practices and competitions, athletes build physical fitness, confidence, and resilience. Participation in track and field also fosters a strong sense of camaraderie and school pride, as students push their limits and celebrate each other’s achievements
We still think it is the best option for our child – he is strong academically, but would struggle socially in a typical school setting and even many of the ‘special needs schools’ because they are more focused on learning disabilities rather than social deficits. I like that there are teachers and staff there that have known my child since he started and will likely be there to see him graduate.
