Counseling
The Counseling Department at Cumberland Academy of Georgia is dedicated to supporting the emotional, social, and academic well-being of all students. Our department consists of a licensed counselor for each of our three schools as well as a counseling director for the entire school. Our counselors provide personalized guidance to help students navigate challenges, build resilience, and achieve their full potential. Through individual and group sessions, we address a wide range of issues, from stress management to social skills development. The department also collaborates closely with teachers and families to create a supportive and inclusive environment. We are committed to fostering a positive school experience where every student feels understood, valued, and empowered.
Our services include but are not limited to:
- Individual sessions based on need
- Social Emotional Learning: Strength based approach that helps students learn skills to foster healthy relationships and development.
- Executive Functional Skills Support: Assistance with organization, time management and focus
- Collaboration with Outside providers
- Monthly Themes: Focuses on a different character trait to empower students: strength, gratitude, compassion

- No Place for Hate: A student-led school climate improvement program that fits your school’s unique culture and needs.
- #Win at Social: WinAtSocial is a program that helps students navigate social media and technology in a way that promotes their health, happiness, and success.
- Art Lunch: Weekly time set aside for student to use creative activities to help people express themselves and process their experiences
