ATLANTA, GA — Cumberland Academy of Georgia and its post-secondary program, College at Cumberland, are proud to announce their official induction into the Georgia Neurodiversity Chamber of Commerce (GNCC) as CHAMPION Members. This partnership marks a significant milestone in the institutions’ commitment to fostering inclusive career pathways and economic opportunities for neurodivergent individuals across the state.

As CHAMPION members, Cumberland Academy and College at Cumberland join an elite group of organizations dedicated to leading the charge in neuro-inclusion. This membership level underscores their role as community pillars, moving beyond advocacy into active workforce development and corporate leadership.

Expanding the Ecosystem of Support

Since its founding, Cumberland Academy of Georgia has been a leader in providing a supportive educational environment for students with high-functioning Autism, ADHD, and other learning differences. The recent addition of College at Cumberland has extended that mission into the young adult years, focusing on executive functioning, career readiness, and independent living.

“Joining the GNCC as a CHAMPION member is a natural evolution of our mission,” said Debbi Scarborough, Founder and Head of School at Cumberland Academy of Georgia. “We aren’t just preparing our students for the world; we are working to ensure the world is prepared for our students. By partnering with the Chamber, we are helping build a Georgia where neurodivergent talent is recognized as a competitive advantage.”

Why the CHAMPION Membership Matters

The GNCC’s CHAMPION tier is designed for organizations that want to be at the forefront of the neurodiversity movement. Through this partnership, Cumberland will:

  • Bridge the Gap: Connect graduating students and young adults directly with neuro-inclusive employers.
  • Lead the Conversation: Participate in statewide initiatives to shape policy and workplace standards for neurodivergent employees.
  • Resource Sharing: Collaborate with other business leaders to share best practices for supporting diverse cognitive styles in professional settings.

“We are thrilled to welcome Cumberland Academy and College at Cumberland to our CHAMPION ranks,” said a representative of the Georgia Neurodiversity Chamber of Commerce. “Their track record of educational excellence provides a vital blueprint for how we can nurture talent from the classroom to the boardroom.”
