Deedra Hughes Named President of Cumberland Academy of Georgia Board of Directors
Cumberland Academy of Georgia, an Atlanta special-needs school, is pleased to announce Deedra Hughes as the new president of its board of directors. Hughes is president of Hughes Media, a full-service digital marketing agency in Atlanta, and a longtime supporter of Cumberland.
Cumberland Academy of Georgia, an Atlanta special-needs school, announced today that Deedra Hughes has been named president of its board of directors. Hughes is president of Hughes Media, a full-service digital marketing agency in Atlanta, and a longtime supporter of the school.
“I am sincerely honored to be voted the board president and look forward to helping to build upon its history of excellence,” says Hughes. “I’ve supported Cumberland Academy of Georgia since its inception, and I’m proud of the difference the school has made in so many lives. I have many plans for the upcoming year to involve more stakeholders to advance the school.”
Cumberland Academy of Georgia specializes in the needs of students with ASD, attention deficit disorder (ADD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and other learning disabilities. Fully accredited by both the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and the Georgia Accrediting Commission (GAC), Cumberland serves over 100 students in grades 4 through 12, and also offers a post-graduate year.
As a digital business consultant, Hughes advises various company presidents and chief executive officers on their companies’ branding and positions on the Internet. She founded Hughes Media in 2000. Under her leadership, Hughes Media manages over 800 domains and websites worldwide. Hughes is a graduate of Ohio University with a communications marketing degree.
