Support Cumberland

Ways To Give

Cumberland Academy of Georgia is a private, non-profit, independent school geared towards helping every student become successful and independent adults. As an independent school, Cumberland depends on tuition and charitable contributions to cover the annual operating expenses of the school. Tuition covers about 80% of the specialized education here at Cumberland. To best support our students, our Annual Fund helps Cumberland’s specialized program to include small classroom size, certified special education teachers, social skills development, life skills development, and interactive science programs. We depend on contributions to help support our school operations.  In addition, charitable contributions can support financial aid, capital projects, and special projects to help Cumberland continue to be an exceptional school. The many ways to give and we are grateful for your support!

Georgia GOAL Tax Credit Program

Through Georgia’s Tax Credit Program, the GOAL Scholarship program allows taxpayers to redirect a portion of their state income tax to provide scholarships for eligible students to attend Cumberland Academy of Georgia.

American GOAL Scholarship Program

Turn federal taxes into educational opportunity!

We are excited to share that, beginning in 2027, our school will participate in American GOAL, a new federal tax credit opportunity operated by GOAL Scholarship Program, Inc. This powerful program gives you a voice in how your federal tax dollars are spent and literally keeps them local to Georgia.

Through American GOAL, individuals can receive a dollar-for-dollar federal income tax credit for contributions that fund tuition assistance for eligible students at participating schools like ours. In other words, you can direct a portion of what you would be required to pay in federal income taxes to support students and families in our community.

Key Program Highlights
  • Individual taxpayers will receive a 100% federal income tax credit for contributions to American GOAL, designating our school
  • There is a limit of $1,700 that can be contributed for a tax credit per taxpayer per year (up to $3,400 for married couples)
  • The tax credit is available to taxpayers in all 50 states
  • There is no national aggregate cap on total contributions
  • Taxpayers can participate in both Georgia GOAL and American GOAL by making a separate contribution for each

How to Participate

Step 1: Make Your Pledge at www.goalscholarship.org
  • Complete the 2027 American GOAL Pledge Form between January 1 and December 31, 2027 and select our school from the dropdown menu.

Step 2: Make Your Payment
  • Pay American GOAL by check, ACH transfer, or credit card by December 31, 2027.

Step 3: Take the Credit
  • American GOAL will send you a tax receipt for claiming the credit when you file your 2027 tax return in 2028

Instead of your full tax payment going to the federal government, you can choose to invest in students right here in our community!

It’s simple: Your taxes. Your choice. Your impact. By participating, you are taking control of your tax dollars and using them to create opportunities for students and families.

Why Make Your Gift Today?

Cumberland Academy of Georgia Annual Fund for Extraordinary Students

We provide our students with the best school experience and fundraising is an essential component to continuing our exceptional education that gives our students life-changing opportunities.

The education and well-being of children with learning differences are of paramount importance for a compassionate and inclusive society. Recognizing the unique needs of these children, Cumberland Academy of Georgia plays a pivotal role in providing tailored education, support, and integrated therapeutic approaches to our students. However, the financial challenges faced by such institutions often hinder their ability to deliver high-quality programs and services. That is why the establishment of our Cumberland Academy of Georgia’s (CAG) Annual Fund for Excellence is crucial. This fund will bridge the financial gap and ensure a nurturing and enriching educational environment that empowers our students to reach their fullest potential.
