Required Summer Reading 2023-24
Listed in the attachment below are the suggested books for summer reading for all students enrolling in Cumberland Academy of Georgia for the 2023-2024 school year. Also linked is the Summer Reading Response students must fill out to get credit for their reading.
For this year’s summer reading requirement, you will only need to choose one age-appropriate book to read and complete a written assignment.
You also have the option to choose a book that is not included on this list, provided that your parents can approve of it. You can choose to read more books from this list and turn in a written assignment for each book read. The Summer Reading Response assignment will earn the student extra credit points and their name will be placed in the raffle drawing for each book read.

The teachers are effective, empathetic and set high standards for their students.A big plus at the school is the large counseling staff available to help students and their families. At Cumberland they educate the whole child. We love the school and are impressed with how the administration, teachers and staff members continually work to improve the school. We moved from Birmingham, Alabama, so our daughter could attend. We also lived in Washington, DC for many years, and Cumberland Academy of Georgia is the best school for special needs that our daughter has attended.
