Fish-Hatchery

  • The fish hatchery at Cumberland Academy of Georgia is used to open the world of science to our students.

  • Teachers are able to give visual examples of science in this trout hatchery.

  • Every Spring, trout eggs are delivered to the site and students, teachers and parents become hatchery managers and scientists.

  • Over 1000 trout eggs are installed in the hatchery for each lifecycle.

  • The eggs are nurtured and monitored by Cumberland “scientists”.

  • Once the trout have hatched and grown, they are released by the students into the Chattahoochee River during a student field trip.
